War in the Suburbs” is a short story by Alex Williams (writer) and Kevin Storm (artist) and poses a simple question.

What if the war was here?

In simple yet painfully touching imagery Alex brings the war home. Reading his script immediately made it crystal clear that this needed to be photographic. And it needed to be in your face, with emotions as clear as possible. Having father and son Edo and Yuri as actors for this short story has proven more than worth the effort.

In a few silent scenes and a few hard-hitting words, the story attempts to focus NOT on the gore, but on the humanity, or lack thereof. What happens to the people. What happens to their hearts and minds, without overanalyzing. Writer Alex deliberately does not pass  judgement, keeping the real emotions behind it even closer to his chest.  Leaving the reader asking the questions. And that, was the point.
